The Faculty of Economics University of Rijeka is a public institution of higher education. It was founded in 1961. Since then, it has been permanently improving the activities in higher education and scientific research. In the field of higher education, the Faculty organises and carries out: undergraduate university and vocational studies, new undegraduate study programmes (the programmes that have started in the academic year 2005/2006), postgraduate scientific studies leading to M. Sc. degree and postgraduate professional studies. The Faculty also conducts the procedure of achieving the academic title Ph.D. in the field of economics.

In addition to higher education, the Faculty of Economics carries out the activities in the field of scientific research and professional projects. Within this activity great emphasis is given to international cooperation between our Faculty and numerous international institutions of higher education. A very important segment of scientific research is the publishing activity within which the Faculty publishes the Proceedings of Rijeka Faculty of Economics – Journal of Economics and Business. It is also important to stress the individual research carried out by our Faculty members, who either individually or in co-authorship publish their works in domestic and foreign scientific and professional journals.
