Course objectives |

The purpose of this course is to help students acquire knowledge in the field of macroeconomic theory and analyses, with a special focus on macroeconomic aggregates and analysis. |

Microeconomic foundations of macroeconomic analysis. Basics of national accounts. Circular flows of economic activities. National product. Financial flows accounts. Systems of national accounts. Basic aggregate macroeconomic model. Short-run vs. long-run aspects. The solution of aggregate macroeconomic model. The consumption function. The saving function. The investment function. The investment multiplier. Inflation and deflation gap. Fiscal policy. Fiscal multiplier. Fiscal and monetary policy in the AS-AD framework. Quantitative monetary theory. Supply and demand for money. Monetary multiplier and process of deposit creation. IS-LM analysis. |
