International Cooperation
From its beginnings, the Faculty of Economics has successfully developed international cooperation with numerous institutions of higher education throughout the world. Our teachers and students regularly take part in exchange programmes, so as do foreign teachers, who as lecturers and researchers stay at the Faculty of Economics Rijeka. In the last ten years, there were four Fulbright scholarship holders teaching at our Faculty, while two of our professors, also within the Fulbright programme, spent a year in the USA. Shorter study-stays of our professors were organised under the following projects: CEEPUS, Kentucky, Cleveland and ALIS. International student exchanges are organised through students' associations AIESEC and AEGEE. In the last ten years, we have laid emphasis on international cooperation in order to implement the global trends and standards into our teaching and scientific activities. The cooperation resulted in altered and enriched undergraduate and postgraduate - master's study programmes. Throughout the entire academic year the Faculty organises lectures held by visiting professors. Our professors also hold lectures at various universities abroad. As an incentive to a better quality of studying the library corpus has been enlarged by 10 000 books of foreign publishers either through donations or through our own procurement. A great deal of international cooperation is realised through scientific and professional projects.
The cooperation in research work brings about a rich publishing activity. The Faculty issues the Proceedings of Rijeka Faculty of Economics with articles in Croatian, English and German. The works of our researchers are also published in foreign publications. The most evident mark of our teachers’ presence in international scientific circles is the organisation of international conferences, seminars and round tables. |
