EDAMBA Doctoral Thesis Competition - 3rd place for Tanja Fatur Šikić

The Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Rijeka, including its Postgraduate doctoral study in Economics and Business Economics, has been a member of the prestigious international association of postgraduate doctoral studies in business economics EDAMBA (European Doctoral Programs Association in Management & Business Administration), and is already the winner of the exceptional quality recognition.

At this year's EDAMBA Doctoral Thesis Competition, the dissertation written by Tanja Fatur Šikić: IMPACT OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN DEVELOPED AND POST-TRANSITION COUNTRIES OF EUROPEAN UNION (mentor: Đula Borozan, Ph.D., Full Prof., co-mentor: Nela Vlahinić-Lenz, Ph.D., Full Prof.) has been included not only in the top ten dissertations of EDAMBA members defended in 2017/2018, but has also won the 3rd place and a valuable cash prize.

The extent of this award is also expressed by the fact that EDAMBA encompasses over 70 universities with faculties conducting postgraduate doctoral studies in business economics, not just within Europe. The Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Rijeka is the only one from South and South-Eastern Europe, besides the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Zagreb and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana.

EDAMBA also offers regular training of Ph.D. students and mentors, whereby the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Rijeka regularly participates by directly financing the participants. Participating in EDAMBA activities, in particular in its annual meetings/ conferences, enables a continuous improvement of curricula, as well as the improvement of the organization of the postgraduate doctoral study itself.
