EFRI in action planting its forests - postponed due to bad weather

Due to the unfavorable weather forecast, the planting of the EFRI forest has been postponed to April 23, 2022.

"Our forests are disappearing and it's scary," said Peter Welch, director of the first council of the European Court of Auditors (ECA) for the sustainable use of natural resources.

We are all aware of the problem of cutting down forests, especially for the purpose of making paper, which we all use in large quantities nowadays. One tree produces as much as 9,900 kg of oxygen in 150 years - the disappearance of the forest can threaten the entire ecosystem, and thus the lives of every organism on earth.

Employees and students of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Rijeka in cooperation with Croatian Forests will plant an EFRI beech forest in the area of Vrbovsko (Moravice) as part of the project "Days of joint planting".

The action will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2022; the bus leaves at 08:00 from a location near the Faculty, and we arrive in Moravice (Vrbovsko) around 10:00. All students, employees and their family members are invited to the afforestation campaign.

The faculty organizes transportation and lunch for everyone after the reforestation, and it's up to you to put on sturdy shoes, dress in layers and bring your good will. It is not necessary to carry any tools. Applications are accepted until March 25, 2022.

The number of applications is limited.
