EFRI Career Week (October 21 – 25, 2019)

EFRI Career Week (October 21 – 25, 2019)

This year, too, from October 21 to October 25, 2019, EFRI Career Week is going to be held at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka!

The aim of the event is to inform students about business opportunities and trends in the business environment and to connect them with potential employers. For this reason, the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka gathers economic experts and numerous businessmen who are going to have the opportunity to introduce themselves to students through various contents, to transfer their knowledge and experience and to inform students about the opportunities offered to them during and after the completion of their studies.

This year's program includes the representatives of companies and institutions: Kraš, Infobip, Chamber of Trades and Crafts of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Erste & Steiermärkische Bank, Mansped, the Croatian National Theater Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka, the City of Rijeka, the Croatian Postal Bank, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and many others. All of them are going to convey their knowledge of current economic trends to students through numerous lectures.

Within the Business Opportunities Day, educational workshops are going to be held by the representatives of the above-mentioned companies for students, in order to help them develop their professional skills. Some of them are: "Personal branding and selection process at Infobip", "Creating a career plan by Adecco", "Preparing for the job market: writing a CV & selection process at CMGC". Moreover, the representatives of the portal danasradim.hr are going to hold a workshop on the topic: "Powerpoint and Excel - tips and tricks". The representatives of Valamar and Erste Bank are going to give lectures on career development opportunities for students, and the representatives of the Croatian Employment Service (Rijeka Regional Office) are going to give a lecture on Active Employment Policy Measures. Furthermore, IntegralEdu is going to present the Work & Travel USA program and at info desks, students are going to be informed about business opportunities by Adecco & HUP, Valamar, Hrvatski telekom, Erste Bank, CES, and others.

Besides, our wish is to inform the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka about the associations and organizations gathering volunteers in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and about the importance of gaining experience through volunteering and the opportunities offered to them through this kind of work. For this reason, October 23 is going to be dedicated to them.

On Thursday, October 24, in collaboration with the ALUMNI community, a panel "Former Students to Present - Your Career Starts Today" is going to be held. The aim of the panel is to activate students to start thinking about their employment during their studies and, accordingly, to immediately engage in various activities and student jobs which can help them develop their competencies. Furthermore, one of the aims is also to encourage them to be active and to start their own business, rather than to get a job in a specific company. Finally, our goal is to point out that the knowledge they acquire through their formal education will be useful to them later in practice, contrary to the frequent prejudice that they will not benefit from that knowledge. The panel includes: Miljenko Vaić (co-owner and director at InCePoSa d.o.o. and sales director at PIK Rijeka d.d.), Nikša Tomulić (co-owner and director at kompare.hr), Ivana Validžić (head of strategy and operations at Brigada d.o.o.) and Aleksandra Ignatoski (business analyst at Aestus d.o.o.). The panel moderator will be prof. Ivana First Komen, Ph.D.

The last day of the Career Week, October 25, is going to be dedicated to high school students for which the Faculty has come up with a special program, showing them the opportunities offered to them through studying at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka. Furthermore, Ivan Gržeta, univ. spec. oec., is going to give a lecture "Smart banking for young adults”.

The complete program of the Career Week will be published soon, and for additional activities, you must apply via an online form available HERE.
