PRIVATE SECTOR INITIATIVE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
The Faculty of economics and business in Rijeka became a partner institution in the project Private Sector Initiative for Young People, started by the Croatian employers association, in cooperation with the European bank for renewal and development.
It will:
- enable quality student internships in successful companies in accordance with recognized international standards
- encourage cooperation between employers and educational institutions in order to improve the skills and knowledge of students during their education
- enable employers to gain access to an even greater base of talent and potential employees.
Over 120 employers, big companies, medium size and small firms have joined the Initiative, and over 600 positions for student internships has been agreed on. Applications remain open, and we expect further involvement of interested employers that will offer student internships and valuable work experience to our students.
Students will be able to access the portal of Initiatives for young people, through the AAI@EduHR login, where the open internship positions in different sectors of the economy will be. They will be able to contact the employers directly. The employer will, after the selection process, choose the best candidate for the internship.
As part of the Initiative, the student internship will last a minimum of 6 weeks and maximum of up to 6 months, with the possibility of a whole-year engagement, depending on the work cycle of the firms and faculty obligations of the student. Each student will get three assignments throughout their internship:
- daily tasks to support the core activities of the company
- longer assignment, a project, that they will work on individully – the topic will be chosen by the employer and the student, and
- one-day supervising by a manager.
When the internship ends, both students and the employers are obligated to turn in a report about the internship to the Initiative's web page.
