The PROXY SERVER (site in Croatian) provides access to all subscribed content from any computer, using your personal AAI user name and password.  

EBSCOhost is a powerful online reference system providing access to a large number of full-text and secondary research databases, covering 3000 full text journals and over 5000 publications presenting abstracts, newspapers, encyclopedia data. The EBSCOHost interface text is available in Croatian by means of the language selection feature located on top toolbar and the Preferences Screen. It contains, among many others, the following databases: Business Source Complete, Academic Search Complete, EconLit, Regional Business New, SOCindex, Newspaper Source.

Academic Search Complete is the most comprehensive scholarly full-text database for multidisciplinary research, covering over 7100 full-text periodical publications and including more than 6100 peer-reviewed journals.

Current Contents Connect

Current Contents is the most popular database in Croatia due to its relative high criteria in journal selection, content coverage in all scholarly fields, frequent updating, data on authors’ abstracts, addresses, publishers’ names and addresses, possibility of searching individual issues and additional key words facilitating the search.  

DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals

DOAJ is a comprehensive database of scientific and scholarly journals with open access.  The DOAJ aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content. For a journal to be included it must exercise peer-review or editorial quality control; it must contain research and/ or review papers, be issued periodically and have open access to its contents.The database currently includes 2000 journals.  
Emerald Insight

EmeraldInsight is a collection of e-journals published by Emerald Publishing (MCB University Press). EmeraldInsight  databases content covers over 50 000 papers in 155 journals in business and management, library and information sciences as well as a significant number of journals in technical disciplines. Mostly all of the most important managerial disciplines are covered, such as strategy development, management, information management, marketing and HR management.

ERIC database provides unlimited access to more than 1.4 million bibliographic records of journal articles and other education-related material with hundreds of new records added multiple times per week. The ERIC users include education researchers, teachers, librarians, administrators, education policymakers, instructors and students in teacher-preparation programs, parents, the media and business communities, and the general public. SocINDEX with Full Text

SocINDEX with Full Text is the world's most comprehensive and highest-quality sociology research database. Its extensive scope and content provide users with a wealth of extremely useful information encompassing the broad spectrum of sociological study. JSTOR is a shared digital library created in 1995 to help university and college libraries to free space on their shelves, save costs, and provide greater levels of access to more content than ever before. More generally, by digitizing content to high standards and supporting its long-term preservation, we also aim to help libraries and publishers of scholarly content transition their collections and publishing activities from print to digital operations. We provide access to some or all of the content free-of-charge when we believe we can do so and still meet our long-term obligations.JSTOR currently includes more than 1,700 academic journals, dating back to the first volume ever published, along with thousands of monographs and other materials relevant for education. We have digitized more than 50 million pages and continue to digitize approximately 3 million pages annually. 


SCIRUS  is the most comprehensive scientific research tool on the web. With over 545 million scientific items indexed at last count, it allows researchers to search for not only journal content but also scientists' homepages, courseware, pre-print server material, patents and institutional repository and website information.

OpenDOAR is an authoritative directory of academic open access repositories. Each OpenDOAR repository has been visited by project staff to check the information that is recorded here. This in-depth approach does not rely on automated analysis and gives a quality-controlled list of repositories.

RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) is a collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers in 75 countries to enhance the dissemination of research in Economics and related sciences. The heart of the project is a decentralized bibliographic database of working papers, journal articles, books, books chapters and software components, all maintained by volunteers. The collected data is then used in various services as described below.
So far, over 1400 archives from 75 countries have contributed about 1.2 million research pieces from 1,500 journals and 3,300 working paper series. Over 30,000 authors have registered and 70,000 email subscriptions are served every week. See below on how you can be part of this initiative.

Hrčak is the central portal of Croatian scientific journals. Hrčak offers the access to the journals following the Open Access Initiative (more about Hrčak  in Croatian only). 
This portal is supported by the Ministry of Science Education and Sports, developed and mainteined by the University Computing Centre and was initiated by the Croatian Information and Documentation Society. 
The Hrcak project team is responsible for the portal's overall design and functionality as well as data security. Responsibility for the journals content and the accuracy of data therein lies with the respective journal editors. 


Croatian scientific bibliography CROSBI collects bibliographic information on all publications written by Croatian scientists. Repository currently contains over 280 000 bibliographic records (about 20.000 per year). CROSBI serves as a open access repository (OA) for more than 6,000 publications with full text. CROSBI records are uniquely associated with the identification number of scientists, institution, research project, and subject area, which provides great opportunities for searching and browsing.
Except for purposes of annual reports for Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, data stored in CROSBI are used for support in work of evaluation commission, scientist use it for scientific advancement, it offers current ("on demand") bibliography for the institution, project and scientist.  Scientists themselves provide the data into the database, quite often before the paper has been published, which provides update. 


Proleksis encyclopedia is the first Croatian general and national online encyclopedia (in Croatian only).
Encyclopedia currently contains more than 62 000 articles (including articles within synthetic entries) and more than 17 000 illustrations. Editorial Board consists of 9 people and more than 50 editors, contributors and authors of articles contributed to this project.
