Rules
The Hanžeković Foundation announces its competition for the 2026 annual awards. Articles, in Croatian or English, must be submitted by June 1, 2026, accompanied by an application form. All entrants must comply with the terms of the competition.
Awards
Awards are given in two categories:
• one regular prize – 6,500 € gross, a certificate and a medal
• one student prize – 2,000 € gross and a certificate.
Criteria
The Foundation invites the submission of theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented articles in the field of public sector economics that analyse the role and functioning of the public sector at macroeconomic, sectoral and microeconomic levels, in both advanced and emerging market economies. Particularly sought are articles providing new ways of looking at things, new assessments, judgements and knowledge. The qualities looked for are analytical rigour and creativity, as well as originality and technical proficiency.
Only original and unpublished works can be considered.
In the regular category, the age of the entrants will be taken into consideration, with younger contestants receiving extra points.
The competition notice is public, while papers must be submitted electronically under a codename.
Results
The Foundation will announce the results of the competition by September 30, 2026. The award ceremony will be held in early December.
